His Eyes 1/8/07

So intensely, he looked;
Bearing every emotion in his soul,
Revealing the depths of his heart,
And all i could do was raise my eyebrows in consternation,
To hide my fears of understanding.

He looked away,
But I could tell that all he wanted-
Was to look back and receive something i could not give;
A look as deep as his and as strong as his,
Open and ready for a bond greater than friends could hold.

He surreptitiously hid it,
That longing of desire for what men most want,
That want of more than life can give,
Than i can give; yet i knew it was there,
Yes-the strong urge to grab through the brambles the precious rose you seek,
Whose perfume wafted you for a time,
Taunting you, knowing you could not fight that hindrance between;
But the pain and blood spent was no more precious when the time came,
And a hand was thrust to grab the desirous.

He does not know,
But i covertly hide away;
Purposely, in the darkness;
Hoping he would not come and that the desirous would become less desirable,
But that look in his eyes inspires new fears,
Fears of a future unrequited love that will haunt me forever,
A love of such magnitude that the Gods wonder what the end may be,
Another Romeo or a different sort,
For the destinies have been left unweaved by those three-
Who don't understand what to do with the lad;
A boy so young, yet so cultivated and liable to become a man too soon.

He may be the one,
That is to rid the world of all evils,
Or the one to bring more evils to the world,
But this poor Juliet hopes not to distress him,
As she tumbles through life with no real direction-but the hope in her mind,
For the look gave her heart a longing yet fear,
And now the fear is stronger as the mind takes control,
For the mind and heart cannot agree-
Never agree on one real path,
For each is narrow and darkly lit to hide the danger laying within,
And even if her decision is not made soon,
The forces persisting will carry her through,
To one path or the next,
No one can know,
Until that day comes with a future unknown.
